Few things beat the simple satisfaction of knowing you can get off grid via a well-worn and rough-around-the-edges adventure van. Recently, we picked up a beautiful old van named Douglas Fir (read more about it below). We've been thinking a lot about what to stock it with, modifications to make, and how to get it dialled for comfortable road living. So, we got inspired to put together a few of our choice essentials for good vanlife living. If you're anything like us, the world right now feels more complicated than ever. Wherever you stand, sometimes it feels darker, stranger, more confusing. Making sense of it all while amidst the noise, bustle, screens and everything else can be overwhelming, exhausting. So, we bought a van. Not to opt out, not to run away from things, but to remind ourselves that there are still starry nights, wild swell, and meteor showers to see out there in the world. For us, there's no better way to find them than through a well-stocked, totally dialled van. So, we wrote about a phrase that -- yeah -- is a little long in the tooth, but is still important as hell to us: vanlife.
